The artistic installation derives from the handicraft tradition of making sieve fabrics from horsehair, a once flourishing craft activity in Kranj and Škofja Loka. Craftsmen dyed horsehair in various colors and used it to make picturesque checkered patterns for sieves. Hana Tavčar developed a series of printed textiles from them. On pieces of sheets found in her Grandma’s chest, interventions that represent a bond with tradition took place in the technique of screen printing and hand embroidery.
