The works of students represent a tribute to the textile industry in Gorenjska with an emphasis on the production of the company Tekstilindus and its predecessor. The students found inspiration in the books of samples kept by the Gorenjska Museum in Kranj.
With its 22 years and one month, Kranjski Tekstilindus is a record holder among bankruptcy proceedings in Slovenia. Students paid tribute to this flagship textile horse of Slovenia and the former Yugoslavia with collections of textile patterns that look for starting points and are inspired by the rich collection of books of patterns kept in its archives by the Gorenjska Museum. The thesis opens up current issues of textile production. What form of textile production can survive in our country? Do we even need it? Is textiles a value for us? Will we be able to pass on the knowledge of the formation of the textile surface to our descendants at all, or will we be content with the production of textiles far from our eyes?
