Emotions are among those things in the world that don\u2019t always require (clear) definitions. Sometimes, we just need to feel them, process them, and make space for them. This is precisely the theme that selected artists address through their exhibited works. They create a \u201cspace\u201d in the form of collage for our otherwise suppressed or invisible emotions. With their chosen materials such as paper, wood, cut-out words, old architectural maps, images from magazines, they invite us into their space, either visible or hidden, granting us the freedom to feel. They inquire what is trapped beneath our personal surface and the surface of our world in general. Exploring all layers of the artworks, such as layers of paper, wood, the content between the lines, can prompt us to contemplate the various layers of our individuality and compel us to finally make space for it. The infinite power of art lies in its ability to evoke emotions. Of course, our lives are not solely composed of pleasant feelings, and to be honest, a significant portion of those that are more complex is unpleasant, and negative. And what better way to explore them than through the strokes (cuts…) of the artists\u2019 experiences? What do we do in times of grief, heartbreak, despair, and sadness? Through art (paintings, music, sculpture, etc.), we can seek a familiar sense of belonging, which comforts us in knowing that all emotions are universal. An insight into our struggles and searches gives power to our own empathy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
