Dziewior Pavlin v maniri infografik osvetli nekatera manj poznana dejstva in jih v novih kontekstih relativizira.

This summer, Mergentaler’s gallery will be hosting an exhibition of posters, which are thematically related to the main event of the art district Kranj, Živa ulica. This year the annual street festival focuses on bicycling and city bikes. Street gallery will be showing the exhibition entitled The Beauty and the Bike, which is representing a creative mind of graphic designer and animator Anika Dziewior Pavlin. She takes an example of a woman on a bicycle and transforms her into a unit for measuring the level of quality of life in different countries around the world.

In the manner of Infographics Anika Dziewior Pavlin highlights some less known facts and puts them in new contexts by relativizing them. The bicycle as the invention is placed in the centre as the social stigma for potentially vulnerable groups, e.g. past social mechanisms that structured the ban of female cycling. Sadly, only in our society and with an open-end deadline. Decreased female fertility and rising cases of hysteria are somewhere still interconnected with women and cycling.

Anika Dziewior Pavlin is Polish motion designer based in Kranj. She studied political journalism in Krakow majoring in gender mainstreaming. Her work focuses on explaining complex ideas through images and movement.
