S projektom reDiscover želimo z inovativnimi pristopi približati tradicionalno rokodelstvo sodobnim oblikovalcem. Osnovna dva cilja projekta sta - tradicionalna znanja postaviti kot osnovo produkcije sodobnega oblikovanja ter ohraniti tradicionalne tehnike in metode za prihodnje generacije. Tradicionalna rokodelska znanja evropskega prostora so neizkoriščen kulturni vir, ki lahko učinkovito podpira profesionalni razvoj in izpopolnjevanja mladih umetnikov. V tradicionalna znanja uvrščamo tudi načine dela, uporabo orodij, materialov, oblik in vzorcev, običaje, strokovne veščine in odnos do naravnega okolja.

V okviru projekta reDiscover partnerji organiziramo potujočo razstavo, ki si zastavlja cilj prikazati ponovni premislek o tradicionalnih evropskih rokodelskih in obrtniških tehnikah.

Spletna stran

With the reDiscover project, we want to bring traditional craftsmanship closer to contemporary designers through innovative approaches. Our initiative has two main goals: to put traditional knowledge at the service of contemporary design and fashion, and to preserve traditional techniques and methods for future generations. European traditional knowledge is an untapped cultural resource that can effectively support the professional development and fulfilment of young artists. By traditional knowledge we also mean working methods, the use of tools, materials, forms and patterns, customs, professional skills and the relationship with the natural environment. It also includes folk culture and folk art. This transfer of knowledge is essential for the collection and preservation of intangible cultural heritage values, for raising awareness among young professionals and for attracting new audiences. The project aims to create a long-term cross-sectoral cooperation between the design industry and the cultural heritage sectors, combining the strengths of these two areas to meet the latest challenges of the times and to become more competitive at international level. As a part of the project, we are organizing a traveling exhibition of design based on traditional European craft methods and techniques. The exhibition will feature artists under the age of 30 with work no more than two years old. We show contemporary design products that creatively rethinks traditional European craft knowledge. The artworks are diverse, such as designer objects, ceramics, metal, glass, textiles, jewelry, land art, etc. The exhibition is presented in five venues (Kranj, Salföld, Budapest, Gdansk, Tbilisi). In addition to the artists invited to the exhibition, works from the national workshop will also be on display.
