The mentoring program of intensive workshops and lectures by international designers, artists, and experts in the field of textile patterns making will draw from the textile heritage of the collections of the Natural history museum in Kranj. Participants will gain experience in the conceptual development of contemporary textile patterns through field research of heritage, as well as practical knowledge for applying them to functional products or artworks.
Throughout the creative process, mentors will be available to participants for feedback and revision. The patterns will be produced, and the project will conclude with a group exhibition in December 2026 at Layer house.
BIENmake is a program of the Textile Art Biennial BIEN and encourages creativity and networking.
