meeting point: outside Layer House

Olivia Géraud is a French textile and visual artist working between Paris and Le Havre on the Normandy coast. Trained at the renowned French tapestry workshop Manufacture des Gobelins, she primarily identifies as a high-warp tapestry weaver. Her artistic practice draws on various media, including embroidery, etching, and drawing.

During her residency, we are organizing a walk with the artist through Kokra Canyon. You are welcome to join her on 25th April at 11:00.

During the walk, she will talk about her practice, and you will help her collect found objects and natural materials from Kokra Canyon. As part of the process of connecting with the artist, you can create a small impermanent installation by the river with Olivia. Any leftover materials will be used by her for her own research and work during her stay in Kranj.

Attendance is free. The event will be held in English

If you would like to take part, please send us an email at bien@layer.si by 24th April.

The event is supported by the Culture Moves Europe and by the Ministry of Culture of Slovenia. It is part of the BIEN 2026 programme.
