We are announcing an exhibition by Eta Sadar Breznik. She is the recepient of the Prešeren Fund Award and the outstanding textile artist. At the biennial she is presenting the series Flying Carpets (2009) and Butterflies (2012) at the Škrlovec Tower Gallery. All her works are large format and woven on hand looms.
After finishing her studies of architecture in Ljubljana, Eta Sadar Breznik devoted herself entirely to designing, weaving and studying the field of textile art. She continued her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz, Poland, with prof. Aleksandri Manczak. Since 1978, we have encountered her works in numerous solo exhibitions, selected group exhibitions in the field of textile art in Europe, Asia and America. They are also included in many public collections as well as in professional reviews of world achievements in the field of textile art. Eta Sadar Breznik, among others, won a bronze medal at the International Tapestry Festival in Beauvais, 1996, France and the Slovenian National Award, the Prešeren Fund Award in 1998.
