cave_me is a group interdisciplinary work of four postgraduate students of the University of Ljubljana; Academy of Fine Arts and Design and the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering. In the work that is exhibited in the Mahlerca Gallery, they reflect on spatial principles and connect the media in which they primarily operate - ceramics and textiles. The student residency project also connects the exhibition of kinetic ceramics πr kvadrat and the biennial of textile art BIEN 2021.
Satya Pene (1995) is a graduate student of Academy of Fine Arts and Design, majoring in Unique Design of Glass and Ceramics. She graduated in the field of ceramics under the mentorship of prof. Mirko Bratuša at the Faculty of Education, Department of Art Pedagogy and as part of an exchange researched in the medium of porcelain at the Kunstuniversität Linz. She is currently studying and connecting the field of ceramics with graphics and textiles.
Ajda Rep (1996) is a postgraduate student at Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering, majoring in Textile and Clothing Design. In 2019, she graduated with a degree in upcycling and the use of recycled materials in the manufacture of textiles and toys for children. She is also involved in illustration and graphic design.
Hana Tavčar is a master’s student at Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering, majoring in Textile and Clothing Design. She completed her first-cycle studies at Academy of Fine Arts and Design, majoring in Painting. She also studied at the HSLU in Lucerne, Switzerland (Illustration). She focuses her studies and research mainly on textile design, but also creates in the field of drawing and graphics.
Timotej Rosc (1998) is completing his studies at Academy of Fine Arts and Design, majoring in Unique Design. He approaches his work experimentally, exploring ceramics, glass and their boundaries, and combines a sculptural approach with fashion and costume design. He works as a costume designer in theater performances and film. He exhibited mdr. at the Ljubljana Triennial of Ceramics UNICUM 18 and at the Milan Triennial of Broken Nature.
