The displayed forms of clothing transcend the boundaries between fashion and art, fashion and dressing, dressing and the presentation of the body. Their function cannot be directly linked to fashion if we define fashion as a widely accepted and worn clothing style in a particular time. Clothing is often not considered an artistic discipline, as it is believed to lack the ability to express artistic viewpoints. Critics do not diminish the creative potential and aesthetic value of fashion, but it is generally accepted as an activity that sells consumer goods. Certainly, we cannot claim that every clothing image or a collection of clothing images is a work of art, but some Slovenian authors have created original expressive textile art objects within the medium of textiles and clothing forms.
