Alongside the primary exhibition, we are preparing the BIEN CONNECT program in partnership with the remarkable Oloop group, a Slovenian textile and design studio that is marking its 20th anniversary this year in building textile communities. The CONNECT program will bring experiential workshops, meetings aimed at strengthening and establishing new interpersonal connections between textile communities and individuals eager to co-create and a symposium on the role of textile communities from ancient times to the present day.

The meetings will be aimed at strengthening and establishing new interpersonal connections between textile communities and individuals eager to co-create. Through the simple textile technique of interweaving, we will form a community circle in an urban environment and taste the beneficial effects of creating with textiles.

The Oloop group is active in various fields of visual creation, from product design, spatial layout design to textile art, and at the same time leads trainings, lectures and workshops and connects design with socially engaged projects. With their products and projects, they have been participating in the most important presentations of Slovenian design at home and abroad for many years, which has earned them international recognition and some prestigious awards, such as the Red Dot Concept 2007 and honorable mention at BIO 20, and recently the Selfie award design achievement 2022.
