The sun, which serves as our source of light, is also the wellspring of our life. How do sunlight and light relate to the concept of home within social and political structures? The artwork is composed by utilizing photographs of workers who migrated from Turkey to Germany, accompanied by notes inscribed on the reverse side. By stitching these images onto translucent fabrics, it symbolizes the migrants’ fading sentiments of home as time elapses. The installation prompts contemplation on the bonds between migrant families and their attachment to their native geography, while also questioning the notion of belonging. The strategic placement and posture of each piece, as well as its ability to captivate the viewer’s attention, are meticulously designed to foster immediate interaction with the artwork. Furthermore, the design unveils the interplay between the various images, thereby encompassing the entire contextual dynamics of a space adorned with visual elements.
