The exhibition Interweaving textile communities is presenting the results of a series of workshops that took place within the BIEN 2023 Textile Art Biennial in Jesenice, Škofja Loka and Kranj. During these gatherings, the participants learned about beneficial effects of creating with textiles through hand-knitting techniques and a guided process. Each participating woman is represented by a colourful knitting created in the bonding circle and a part of her writing, her rhythm of words that emerged from silence.

TJAŠA BAVCON and KATJA BURGER KOVIČ are designers, artists and lecturers who have been working for twenty years in the OLOOP COLLECTIVE, where together with Jasmina Ferček they lead, organise and produce many national and international projects in the field of empowerment of vulnerable groups and women through participatory workshops, textile art and textile design, with a focus on textile handicraft. For their work, they have received numerous national and international awards.
