The students completed the project of printing a huge textile of Šorli’s canopy with two parallel activities. They studied the architectural monuments of Marjan Šorli and at the same time creatively tested different techniques of hand printing textiles and designed textile patterns based on selected motifs. They artistically analyzed architectural drawings, plans and photographs of the Horticultural Garden, the Prešeren Grove and the skyscraper, three best-known designs by Šorli in Kranj. When they learned about the graphic preparation of artistic motifs for printing and after everybody developed their own screen, they executed the printing of a huge textile roof over a good part of the Prešeren Square, a welcome shade in the summer heat.
