Small woven textiles, called "combs" in textile design jargon, show one of the most important values for man - water. 1st year students presented their conception, interpretations, and feelings about water through the medium of hand weaving on small hand looms, using basic, combined, and fictional weaving bindings. By weaving a variety of yarns and wires, students created structures and textures, densities and sparseness, contrasts and harmonies. Thus, we can feel restless water surfaces and vortices, free currents and waves, feel the reflections of light and sunlight penetrating through the water, and the tide that changes in the rhythm of the day, observe plants and animals, shudder at the force of water and flood harassment, and we look forward to the tiny drops that fall to the surface and leave gentle traces behind.
