Boris Beja is a Slovenian contemporary artist who predominantly works in spatial installations. His sculptural and textile works can be described as social sculptures or spatial “quotations.” Back-up Plan draws from the artist’s experience at the Pirueta ballet school. Through repeated movements, his body would “stir the air,” a gesture he later translated into a pentagon shape, extending across the floor into an expanded pattern.
