The starting point of the project titled Field is a continuation of the work Denis Likes to Play Tennis (2016), which drew upon patterns, both visual and conceptual, as well as social patterns. The field is composed of tennis balls arranged in linear strips, forming a pattern where the sandy ground of the court is replaced by a combination of ready-made and concrete. This establishes a relationship of imaginary tennis play, where the tension of the racket is crucial for achieving a good result. In this context, the artist emphasizes sound as the echo of space and the dialogue between two players. The installation draws attention to the limitations and organization within the space, in which it seems that we must adhere to a precisely prescribed system and rules. Each point is crucial in constructing the pattern. The pattern no longer serves its primary function, but becomes a field in which both the player and the viewer choose their own sequence of assembling the game. The large surface filled with the pattern of tennis balls visually relates to a tennis court, which, like fields, is incorporated into urban and organized parks.
