As flowers to bees, as art to people.

The work Portal seeks inspiration from the experience of beekeeping and the relationship between the sun, plants, bees, honey, and humans—a human connection with an ongoing natural cycle. The work involves wax, which is otherwise removed from the honeycombs before being discarded. A thin layer of wax is promptly peeled off the honeycombs, revealing the honey that is perfectly stored in each and every little cell. The artist’s work is influenced by her experience of living on a small farm and explores the human relationship with ecology while investigating strategies for reconnecting with nature.
