Crocheted Sculptures: Co-creating and Connecting through Art, a free participatory spatial crocheting event with Icelandic textile artist Halla Armanns
A free, participatory crochet event with Icelandic textile artist Halla Armanns.
You are invited to experimental sculpture crocheting with Icelandic textile designer Halla Armanns, who we are hosting at the Rog Center as part of a one-week residency. The workshop is part of the accompanying program of the Oloop collective’s retrospective exhibition.
The workshop will begin with instructions on a simple crochet technique to create the base of the sculpture and encourage the use of various colors. After forming the base, participants can enhance the sculpture by “drawing” with thread or adding further crocheted elements to introduce additional spatial aspects. The goal of this process is to unite individual creativity into a cohesive artistic expression.
The workshop is intended for teenagers and adults. A minimal basic knowledge of crochet is recommended, but this should not be a barrier. You can join the workshop at any time within the proposed timeframe and leave whenever you wish. Every contribution counts.
The Residency of Halla Armanns was made possible by the support of ACF Program (in Slovenia 2014-2021) and Center Rog Ljubljana (financially supported by Municipality of Ljubljana).
Activities are part of O2OOP exhibition.
