Creating with Textiles in Dialogue with Oneself

Oloop Collective has been operating at the intersection of art, design, and socially engaged participatory practices for two decades. Their artistic vision transcends the materiality of textiles, treating them as a space for inner processes—one that opens dimensions of sensory experience, emotional richness, and symbolism. The textile artists of Oloop continuously explore creativity as a universal human experience—not merely as a medium of expression, but as a path to self-exploration, contemplation, and regeneration. The rhythm of breath aligns with the rhythm of the hands, the touch of materials awakens bodily memory, and repetitive movements soothe and bring us into the present moment. This process goes beyond the visual, evoking holistic perception, recognition of inner emotional landscapes, and a deeper relationship with oneself and the world.

In their practice, textile-making is recognized as a field of possibilities—a space where we can open up, connect, express, and co-create. The interweaving of traditional knowledge, contemporary design practices, and the transformative potential of art enables participatory and collaborative approaches that create safe spaces for exploring personal and collective experiences. Textile becomes more than just a material—it carries stories, emotions, and a healing process that extends beyond the individual into a shared communal experience. Through their work, the Oloop Collective raises questions about the significance of touch, material and immaterial heritage, and art as a means of connection, reflection, and empowerment for individuals and society.

BIEN Workshop: Spaces Within Me – Exploring Inner Landscapes through Textile Art

Join us in exploring inner landscapes through textile art. This gathering will take place in an urban natural setting, where we will use simple folding and wrapping techniques to spontaneously and intuitively connect with our inner spaces, deepening our perception of feelings and emotions. Through a tactile creative experience, we will gradually recognize, express, and transform them into a textile landscape. The program is designed as a safe and supportive space that, through artistic practice, encourages mindful exploration, self-understanding, and the integration of personal experience into the broader context of community and creativity.
