A modern approach to the motif of the sun's face, which finds inspiration in myths and fairy tales

The Sun in Splendor draws on ancient symbols of sun worship and represents a modern take on the sun face motif. The author, Paolo Puck, hopes to give viewers a glimpse of a world inspired by myths and fairytales. His artwork includes elements influenced by early civilization art from the Bronze and Iron ages as well as classical Greek, ancient Roman, and Medieval artwork. With the characters Puck creates and the archetypes they represent, he invites the viewer to contemplate topics ranging from hidden and contrasting identities, authoritarianism, greed, power, helplessness, and our temporary and fragile nature. He strives to explore these topics with humor and a hard-won sense of optimism.
