Twee Muizen are Denís and Cris. Denís studied fine arts and Cris fashion design. The project was initiated in Amsterdam in 2010 and was named after the Dutch words for "two mice". Both Denís and Cris hail from Galicia and grew up in small villages near Santiago de Compostela, where they were surrounded by mountains, animals, and nature. This influence is reflected in their work, which often features a surrealistic aura and aesthetic. They currently reside and work in Barcelona, spending most of their time in their workshop creating personal projects or fulfilling requests from clients. Their workshop also includes a small gallery area where they showcase their latest embroidered masks, tapestries, paintings, and illustrations.
The project is being fully funded by the European Union and implemented by the Goethe-Institut. Disclaimer: This work was produced with the financial assistance of the European Union. The views expressed herein can in no way be taken to reflect the official opinion of the European Union.
