“Error plays with the material and immaterial, with the original and the reproduction – with manipulation. By precisely defining the shifts of vertical and horizontal lines, it creates a unique tension; generating an image of a domestic forest, which with its name draws attention to one of the important collage, artistic, and life goods – to the error. Simultaneously, it forces one to think: are we humans not the greatest Error?”

Collage mural Error was created by the author Oliver Pilić during an art residency as part of KAOS, festival of contemporary collage. Besides playing with the material, it is also possible to see manipulation with colour in his work- the forest, which one would expect to be green, Pilić presents in red. He refers to the physical phenomenon of reflection, the changing of the light spectrum, and the concept of absorption, connected to the so-called “false image” as shown, for example, by satellites. At the same time, the colour red can be understood as a warning, related to climate change, deforestation, and the lack of green spaces in cities. In other words, as another “Error.”
