María Elisa Quiaro

With collage Quiaro explores the deconstruction and reconstruction of images. The process allows her to play conceptually with a theme or thought. When the original reality of an image is deconstructed, she begins to tell a story based on her own photos. As the pieces evolve, they take on a life of their own, a new narrative that is ultimately completed in the viewer’s imagination.

María Elisa Quiaro was born in Venezuela and comes from a family where many cultural roots converge. She has lived in the USA and the UK and currently lives in Germany. After graduating in graphic design, she studied journalism and later art in the United Kingdom.
