The artistic vein of Silvia Beltrami materialises in her heartfelt reflection, sharing on the social, anthropological and psychological dynamic of today. Her artistic practice includes refined and delicate technical mastery and a strong manipulative originality in the use of elements and media. But there is never a sensory or moralistic attitude: the artist is thought of as a travel companion of the restless protagonists of their own works, the bodies and souls are split into hundreds of minute fragments, uncontrolled splinters (supervised through by Beltrami’s formality) from wandering in the research for meaning. The plumed basilisk (Basiliscus plumifrons) or the Jesus Christ lizard is a species of lizard able to run short distances across water using both its feet and tail for support.
Silvia Beltrami was born in Rome in 1974, she is a holder of a diploma from the Accademia di Belle Arti di Milano.
