The fifth edition of KAOS, international festival of contemporary collage, with the central theme BENEATH THE SURFACE takes place from May 31 to August 10 in Kranj at various locations. The central venue of the festival is Layer House. In 2024, KAOS presents the works of a group of selected, invited and resident domestic and foreign established artists. Referring to the central theme, the festival showcases collage works that focus on the manifestation of human emotions in today’s complex world, where true emotions often remain beneath the surface, whether due to social expectations, stereotypical connotations, oversaturation or lost contact with oneself. The selected works explore the medium of collage through various techniques and show it as a unique way of artistic expression. Once again, KAOS enters the public space with exhibitions in street galleries, two large-format murals and public interventions. The accompanying program of the festival consists of guided tours, workshops under the joint name KAOS_soočanja / KAOS_face it, artist talks and a music program.
