Barbara Ribnikar

”The artwork aims to blend the boundaries between individual senses – only at their instantaneous intersections can we access deeper truths and beauty.”

The work is inspired by Rilke’s Sonnet to Orpheus No. II-26. It represents the human voice, that elusive object, an intermediate space between the interior and the exterior, between nature and culture, between the body and language, between the subject and the Other, between art and science… Barbara Ribnikar graduated in dramatic acting and artistic speech from the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film, and Television at the University of Ljubljana. She is interested in the boundary areas of different art forms that meet on stages – and in other spaces of collective imagination. This open call marks her first foray into the creation of assemblage.
