Karol Kuhar was born in 1952 in Spodnja Besnica near Kranj. Since 1972 he has been exhibiting in Slovenia and abroad. He has had more than 62 solo and more than 100 group exhibitions in Slovenia, Austria, Italy, Poland, Germany and France. He received numerous awards and recognitions, including the Grand Prešeren Plaque of the City of Kranj in 1987. In 1995 and in 2006, he was awarded at the Slovenian Biennial of the City of Kranj, and in 2014, he received recognition for the quality of his works of art at the 3rd International Festival of Fine Arts Kranj – ZDSLU, and this year, the financial award of the Municipality of Ptuj – international Ex Tempore Carnival art award 2020. He is based in Spodnja Besnica near Kranj.
