Painter Neža Perovšek often conceals the initial phase in creating a collage and expresses tendencies of accumulation and collection of images in her works, which she then combines, modifies, and assembles into new themes and contents. In this exhibition, her work is presented in the form of a video that includes elements of juxtaposition, layering, and intertwining of images and text on a projection surface. Her digital collages combine fragments from her personal archive with elements from media sources, creating a visual language that raises questions about authorship, originality, and the perception of art in the post-internet age. (From the curator text of Adrijan Praznik).
Neža Perovšek (SI) engages with painting through the mentality of archiving, exploring the human nature of accumulating objects. Her primary interest lies in the compulsive hoarding disorder – its causes and the content of the accumulated mass of material. She has presented her work at several solo and group exhibitions.
