The series playfully challenges societal beauty standards by exaggerating bodily features to absurd levels. The artworks explore surreal and bizarre figures, each lost in a pursuit of an elusive ideal, creating a chaotic yet thought-provoking expression.
Iza Štrumbelj Oblak (1997) graduated in photography, but her artistic practice has evolved in a performative and participatory direction. Drawing inspiration from her everyday needs and desires, her projects serve as a tool for engaging with society, fulfilling her aspirations, and confronting her fears. By bringing art into public spaces, Iza hopes to encourage people to question their way of living and expand the boundaries of what is possible, acceptable and enjoyable.
