Loneliness portrays inner loneliness, uncertainty, and indecision that arise as we search for answers to questions about our identity and direction in life. It features a portrait of a woman with crossed arms, conveying a sense of temporary inaction. Portrait excludes the woman’s head, instead incorporating a depiction of Judith by the painter Giorgione. In this rendition, Judith, a biblical heroine, stands triumphantly with her left foot resting on the severed head of the symbolic tyrant, Holofernes. Additionally, lips suspended in the sky symbolise the pursuit of love, a pervasive theme in our endeavours.

Martin Došek (1967) has been crafting collages since the age of 20. He is also a founder of an advertising agency. For him, creation is a profound passion, a form of relaxation and a perpetual search for self.
