Nevena Aleksovski

The duo Nevena Aleksovski and Maja Babič Košir explore the intersections between personal and collective identity and social issues through a multimedia approach. Their work combines graphics, painting, and sculpture, examining themes of identity, migration, and precariousness in the post-Yugoslav space. A special focus of their work is on archival materials and the use of discarded objects that serve as a source of inspiration for their multilayered visual compositions, combined in a dialogue between their individual artistic practices. Nevena Aleksovski (RS/SI) graduated in painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Novi Sad in 2008, and in 2014, she continued her academic journey with a master’s degree in cultural studies at the University of Ljubljana. She has showcased her work in numerous solo and group exhibitions as well as at international art fairs.
