Eva Mlinar, Anja Kranjc, Andrej Štular, Karol Kuhar, Urška Mazej, Barbara Demšar, Brut Carniollus

Eva Mlinar (1985) completed her studies of art history at the Faculty of Arts and visual communications at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana. He works in various fields of art, with an emphasis on book illustration and theatre. She designed posters for theatre stages in New York, designed the covers for the MGL theatre’s library, currently she is in charge of the visual image of the Anton Podbevšek Theater’s performances in Novo mesto. She has contributed her illustrations to many books and magazines, and regularly collaborates with the publishing house VigeVageKnjige, the MGL theatre and the museum Wellcome Collection in London. She often introduces elements of collage into the illustration and is a great fan of old maps, the Middle East and medieval times. She was resident artist at KAOS 2020.

Anja Kranjc (1982) studied sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana, where she graduated in 2008 and received her master’s degree in 2011 with a master’s thesis on Interspace of Existence and exhibition Into the White with regular professor Matjaž Počivavšek and lecturer Dr. Igor Škamperle at the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana. Since 2005, she has had several solo exhibitions and has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Slovenia and abroad. So far, she has created five public sculptural installations. She received several nominations and awards for her work, including the Student Prešeren Award (2006). She does painting, drawing, illustration and pedagogical work. She is a member of DLUL and DLUSP artists’ societies. She lives and works in Vipava. She was resident artist at KAOS 2020.

Andrej Štular is a multimedia artist, who is active in various fields of visual art: illustration, comics, video, film, sculpture, painting, photography and puppets. He is regulary exhibiting his works on solo and group exhibitions, participating at international festivals in Slovenia and abroad. He works with Slovenian comic magazine Stripburger and Puppet Theatre Nebo. Published comic albums: Lustri (2000), Kompost (2008), Živa sem (2011), Bežimo, svet se podira! (2014), Kronike (2015). He was resident artist at KAOS 2019.

Karol Kuhar was born in 1952 in Spodnja Besnica near Kranj. Since 1972 he has been exhibiting in Slovenia and abroad. He has had more than 62 solo and more than 100 group exhibitions in Slovenia, Austria, Italy, Poland, Germany and France. He received numerous awards and recognitions, including the Grand Prešeren Plaque of the City of Kranj in 1987. In 1995 and in 2006, he was awarded at the Slovenian Biennial of the City of Kranj, and in 2014, he received recognition for the quality of his works of art at the 3rd International Festival of Fine Arts Kranj – ZDSLU, and this year, the financial award of the Municipality of Ptuj – international Ex Tempore Carnival art award 2020. He is based in Spodnja Besnica near Kranj. He was resident artist at KAOS 2020.

 

Urška Mazej (Slovenia, 1988) graduated at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana where she studied painting. She has participated in many group and solo exhibitions and received awards for her work. As a scenographer and a costume designer she co-creates theatre plays and films. She is a co-founder of the Cultural and Artistic Association Koncentrat (Velenje). She lives and works in Ljubljana and Velenje. She was resident artist at KAOS 2018.

Barbara Demšar (Slovenia, 1969) graduated from the Faculty of Education in Ljubljana (under the supervision of Professor H. Gvardjančič) where she studied art pedagogy. As a student, she developed her knowledge and skills in France, USA and UAE. She has participated in several Slovenian and international collective exhibitions (Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Italy, Austria, France, Belgium, Romania, Germany, Turkey, USA), had a number of solo exhibitions and has received awards for her work in Slovenia, Croatia and USA. She is a member of The Slovenian Association of Fine Arts Societies. She lives and works in Škofja Loka, Slovenia. She was resident artist at KAOS 2018.  

Brut Carniollus (Slovenija, 1959) is a visual artist and a photographer specialised in photography based digital collage and digital graphics executed as original digital UV prints. In the past one of his interests was also documentary photography and he collaborated with some of the best Slovenian photographs. He is a member of the Slovenian Association of Fine Arts Societies. He has exhibited in Slovenia and abroad. He lives and works in Radovljica, Slovenia. He was resident artist at KAOS 2018.
